CARE FOR GILDED WOODEN BEDS
Gilded Qualities
Each piece of gold or silver leaf is individually applied to our beds by hand. This can create a checkerboard effect as each sheet of gold or silver is approximately 6-8 inches square. Once finished, the gilding is then expertly distressed to further enhance the aged appearance, thereby giving each piece its own character and charm. However, the gold and silver is inherently delicate and knocks or abrasions may cause small pieces of leaf to flake off.Cleaning gilded beds
To clean a gilded wooden bed, we recommend to simply dust it with a clean cloth.Moving the bed
Remove the mattress and box spring/foundation before moving a bed. Do not pull or push the bed from the head or foot end only, as this may cause serious damage. Instead, with one person on either side of the bed, hold the frame at the midway point, and carefully lift or slide the bed into position.
